Becoming a Court Reporter in AR

Arkansas is called "The Natural State" for a reason—its natural beauty makes it a great place to live. It also happens to be a good place to work as a court reporter. Those who wish to become court reporters in the state of Arkansas must be certified and take part in continuing education to maintain their certification on a yearly basis. This certification must come from the Board of Certified Court Reporters Examiners, who decides if applicants are eligible for certification, decides the content of the state’s court reporter exam, examines an applicant’s level of skill and issues the applicant a certificate if he or she meets the criteria. All applicants will pay a fee for certification and pay a yearly fee to maintain it. This certification puts you on the Board’s list of licensed court reporters, which employers can search to find qualified people to fill open court reporter positions.
